Taking a Sickie

Tuesday, January 26 is Australia Day and a public holiday.  Consequently many are thinking of chucking a sickie to get an extra long weekend.  It is after all, only one day; real work doesn't begin until after Australia Day; everyone else is doing it.

Absenteeism costs $32.5 billion a year but that isn't really the reason why you shouldn't take a sickie.  The reason is it's wrong.  It is lying.  It is stealing.  It is fraudulent.  Taking one means that actually, you're not a good person.
